Hi guys today I would like share about Batu Caves history . Batu caves is a natural cave on a hill that is above 120 meters above sea level and is located in the Gombak district, about 13 km north of Kuala Lumpur. The shift that occurred on the surface of the earth for thousands of years made cracks that eventually formed three main caves and several small caves on a hill made of marble.
The caves are sanctified places and are the center of Hindu activity in Malaysia in carrying out their main religious ceremony, Thaipusam.
The longest cave, Dark Cave has a depth of 360 meters, while the main cave, the Main Cave has a depth of 170 meters and a height of up to 100 meters, decorated with sunlight that breaks into the cave wall through small gaps above it.
Because of the vastness of this cave, the Main Cave is used as the main venue for Malaysian Hindu Tamil ceremonies. Besides that, on the bottom there is a giant statue of Lord Murugan (Hindu God) and a statue of Hanoman next to the entrance of the Batu Caves courtyard.
